Being the Aphrodisiac Queen at Valentines
I’d been meaning to write sooner but the past 10 days have been a blur. I did my first national morning show appearance on the CBS Early Show. Didn’t catch it the first time? You can watch it here:

After my quick trip to NYC for 2 minutes of fame (and a freak snowstorm), I headed home to field online interviews with Modern Luxury, Apartment Therapy, Radio and TV Interview Report, went live with a Southern Mass radio station and… I know there was more but I have no idea what.
I then opened my LA test kitchen to members of Save the Date(ing). Juan-Carlos and I debuted some of the recipes from our upcoming book, The Love Diet for the members of the dating service. A crew from Channel 18, the local “Chinese Channel” in LA also joined us for the class and I did an interview with them on sexy foods. Then Yum Sugar visited the kitchen to shoot me instructing their viewers in creating two of my recipes from Fork Me. Rounding it out, I taught an Aphrodisiac Baking Class with Chrysta Wilson of Kiss My Bundt Bakery, (the class even got some play in Daily Candy and the calendar section of the LA Times!) I feel like the media whore of the moment but I swear, I’m not standing on the street corner looking for it!
There is more excitement to come. There’s really no way I can explain what this is like. I’ve always been busy at this time of year, (some years even more overextended than this), but I’ve never had this kind of attention on what I do. I feel like somebody strapped me into the roller coaster seat when I wasn’t looking and I’m just taking the ride. On Weds (day after tomorrow), I’ll be quoted in an aphrodisiacs article in the food section of the New York Times (American food media gets no more high brow than this!) An interview I taped with KCRW’s Good Food – one of the best food shows on the radio – will air on the 13th. The Apartment Therapy, Yum Sugar and Modern Luxury pieces will appear, along with a few great blog hits. I’m not sure what this week will bring but I plan to make a whole, giant field of hay while this sun is shining!
