wine lover? there’s an ap for that
Hope Family Wines has put their stamp on technology with their new Wine DJ iphone ap. You were probably expecting a program to help you pick wines. (I think there’s already an ap for that–we all know there’s one for the palm… that would be Amy Reiley’s Pocket Vineyard, introduced in 1999.) But this program selects the music to match your wine mood.
Think you don’t have a wine mood? The Hopes will show you that you do. (We’ve tried it. We’re the converted.) The one limitation is that you can only select from Hope Family’s Liberty School wines. (Lucky for all of us, Liberty School makes very good wine.) Once you select the wine you feel like drinking, you’ll be given a series of choices about the situation, for example, are you “flying solo or with an entourage”? Based on your answers, the ap provides you with a custom-made playlist from grooveshark.com. (Once you get the hang of it, you will find that you can apply the program to your favorite non-Liberty School wines. Hey, the Hopes still get the glory every time you use the ap even if they don’t get all of your sales!)
