it’s the most wonderful time of the year
It’s that time of year again when my favorite things come together. Food and shopping. Thanksgiving: a time to give thanks for the big sales that help me put a considerable dent in my gift shopping list. And so once again, as I navigate the world of retail and giving, I bring you a few of my favorite things.
When I first became aware of the newly released The Word Made Flesh: Literary Tattoos from Bookworms Worldwide, I was enthralled. I mean, I was an English major in college, I’m a professional writer, and I’m currently experiencing an overwhelming desire for some new ink as my one and only tattoo is about to turn ten. This book sounded perfect to inspire me so I bought it. I love the literary quotes. I love the tattoo pictures. It even led me to now stalk a tattoo Tumblr blog on a regular basis to admire the works of art on flesh. Okay, so I bought this gift for myself, but hey, you can buy it for someone else if you want! Be aware it is a paperback, so slightly less impressive than a hardcover for gift potential.
Something I actually did buy for others on my list is also one of my personal most favorite things. Pajamas. Since I work at home, and often from bed, I have a great affection for my pajamas and I love nothing more than a fun new design. This year my favorite is Nick & Nora’s Winter Puppies design and I discovered that Target.com has all the sizes available online so I even got to shop in my snuggly flannel pajamas from bed for everyone in my life, whether they wear a child’s small or an adult XXXL. Gotta love that!
